Abstract

En los últimos años se han producido avances notables en el control y eliminación de la lepra en todo el mundo. En los países con baja prevalencia, como Cuba, la lucha se desarrolla en diversos frentes: el científico, el tecnológico, el asistencial y el social. Sin embargo, la erradicación de este mal, que ha afligido a la humanidad desde tiempos inmemoriales, aun constituye un problema, debido al silencio operacional en la detección de nuevos casos. Se presenta el caso de una familia, en la cual sus tres miembros, padres e hija, fueron diagnosticados con la enfermedad de Hansen en diferentes formas clínicas
