Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has become a serious health problem, increasing over the last decade in our country, affecting mainly children and adolescents. Although this disorder has been extensively analyzed and studied in an interdisciplinary manner, to date there is no consensus as to the causes, characteristics and specific treatments of this disease. An intervention program using ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy is implemented in an eight-year-old school boy who lives with both parents and two older siblings, diagnosed with ASD from the age of four. For this purpose, a single case study was conducted, with the use of this therapy, to evaluate its current condition. Ten sessions of behavioral intervention were conducted. Follow-up is given to the behaviors showing a slow but constant and progressive reduction during the study period in the different environments in which the subject participates. Finally, a modest reduction in disruptive or maladaptive behaviors as well as the development of new adaptive displacement behaviors and social skills was achieved.Downloads
