Lung cancer is the first cause of death due to cancer in Cuba. The diagnosis is generally made in advanced stages and in patients with respiratory symptoms. The onset with bone metastasis is not frequent and this gives rise to a late diagnosis. This study describes the clinical case of a 73-year-old man, with a history of smoking and other health problems, who presented to the orthopedics department complaining of right knee pain that was increasing gradually, which radiated to the right leg and thigh and caused him a certain functional impotence. As part of the study a chest x-ray and a computed axial tomography of the thorax were made showing a tumoral mass in the upper lobe of the right lung. An endobronchial biopsy confirmed an adenocarcinoma. Classified as IV stage the patient is currently being treated with chemotherapy.Downloads
