Abstract

The history of the Dr. Zoilo E. Marinello Vidaurreta Electronic Journal is reviewed. A descriptive study of the history and events of the journal’s history was carried out, based on the analysis of official documents and meetings with people involved. Throughout these 20 years the journal has been climbing steps that have led it from a journal with a national visibility to an international scope, with indexation in databases, directories and international registrations, in addition to obtaining quality certifications. At present, its management and parameters of quality indicators match the international requirements for biomedical journals.
