Art and Law, the Code of Hammurabi
Keywords:
ART, HUMAN RIGHTS.Abstract
Hammurabi (1730-1688 BC), King of Babylon, promulgated, probably in the year 40 of his reign, a set of laws that, for better knowledge, he ordered to engrave on stone steles and distribute them in the capitals of his empire. However, it is rarely mentioned the monumentality of this work of art that supports a powerful legislative body. This is how the work that is presented was born, with the aim of referencing this code as a monumental work of art and law. To do this, several bibliographies were consulted and a search was carried out using available resources on the Internet. The methods used were the historical-logical, analysis and synthesis and induction-deduction. It was concluded that the Hammurabi Code constitutes a monumental work of Art and Law, with literary value.Downloads
