Dental assistance to patients with disabilities and comorbidities is a point of attention to their needs for a better quality of life. The treatment to patients with infantile cerebral palsy is a challenge for both the dentist and the anesthesiologist. This study presents the case of a 29-year-old white female patient who was taken to the department of maxillofacial surgery of the “Manuel Ascunce Domenech” General Teaching Hospital of Camagüey with inflammation in the left hemiface, anorexia, headache and changes in habitual behavior. The patient had a history of infantile cerebral palsy and mental retardation. The physical examination showed edema in the left genial and infraorbital region, facial asymmetry, 5th-grade caries of 25 and 26, halitosis and volume increase in the bottom of the vestibular groove of 25. Exodontia was performed with satisfactory results using general anesthesia, which represented a challenge due to the associated comorbidities and difficulty in airway management.Downloads
