The tumor masses in the lower hemiabdomen are the reason for gynecological consultation, being the ovarian cysts the most frequently diagnose. Their diagnosis is usually fortuitous, as most cysts are asymptomatic. Imaging methods are the tests of choice for their study. Surgical treatment is one of the most widely used therapeutic alternatives. We present the case of a female patient, 56 years of age, of rural origin, menopause at 51 years of age, who reported an increase in volume of the abdomen, progressive, insidious, of two years of evolution. Cystic mass dependent on ovary is diagnosed. It is announced by the gynecology service and general surgery to perform ovary tumor removal. History of persistent moderate bronchial asthma, treated with beclomethasone and salbutamol aerosol during crises, last crisis was observed about two months ago. It was decided to use a combined anaesthetic technique, bupivacaine at 0.25 % with intravenous infusion of propofol and ketamine. The transoperative procedure passed without complications, and a cystic tumor of the ovary was found, which in the histopathological analysis is reported as a serous cystadenoma of the ovary. Combined anesthesia is an excellent technique for long and complex intrabdominal surgeries, such as giant ovarian tumors, provide benefits for the surgeon, anesthesiologist and patient.Downloads
