Cellulitis caused by foreign body

CELLULITIS, FOREIGN-BODY REACTIONAbstract
Infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue emerge as an important group of conditions with high morbidity in pediatric ages, often related to trauma and foreign bodies. This is a case of a 6-year-old school girl with clinical signs and symptoms suggestive of cellulitis in her right thigh; because of its torpid evolution, an ultrasonographic study was indicated, which confirmed the etiologic diagnosis of a cellulitis secondary to trauma, caused by the introduction of a large foreign body, which went unnoticed for the child’s family.
