Bronchogenic cysts are rare congenital anomalies originating in the primitive tracheobronchial tree. They affect most commonly the lung and posterior mediastinum, although it has also been reported in the skin and subcutaneous tissue. The most frequent location is the suprasternal manubrium. Generally they are diagnosed soon after birth. The case of a 25-hour newborn baby is reported who was referred from the municipality of Puerto Padre with a prenatal obstetric echography that showed a cystic image in the right lung and with a thorax X-ray after being born. A presumptive diagnosis of bronchogenic cyst is set up which is confirmed with a lung CT scan.
