Medicine from the pictorial work of Leonardo da Vinci

MEDICINE IN THE ARTS, ANATOMY, ART.Abstract
The Renaissance determined a new conception of man and the world, with new approaches in the fields of arts, politics and science. Leonardo da Vinci, archetype and symbol of Renaissance man, bequeathed through his experiments a vast pictorial work on human anatomy and its functioning. In the present work are described elements that show the integration of philosophy, art and medicine through the creation of the universal genius of Leonardo da Vinci. A journey through the painting of da Vinci is made, from the dissection of corpses, as contributions to the human anatomy, leaving the production of his art converted into a method of study of medical science. He delves into his most famous drawing The Vitruvian Man, which embodies his integrating philosophical vision of life. The wealth treasured by the anatomy of the present has in Da Vinci one of its greatest precursors, in which the ability to paint genius was the key to its success.
